Q. Are there any products that work really well under artificial lights?
A.
Sparkle, Spray & Shine and Glistening Oil are all products that are 'must haves' for use in indoor arenas. They produce a superb deep shine, are easy to apply and can be used sparingly. They look fabulous when used under artificial light or in sunlight.
New to the Supreme Products range is High Shine Finishing Wipes which can be used round the eyes and the muzzle but also can be used down the legs, on the neck and over the quarters, if required. Dazzling!
Q. Can I do any of my preparation the night before the show?
A.
Absolutely! You can shampoo and rinse the night before a show (or even the day before), which saves a lot of time in the morning before your class. You can also do your white sock preparation - it is more effective if this is done the night before, rather than in the morning when you are in a rush. Use the Leg Whitener and then bandage up immediately.
Immediately after shampooing - while your horse or pony is still wet - you can apply Supreme Products de luxe Coat Gloss, which saves you doing it later and also makes grooming on the morning of the class much easier.
You can also plait manes and then use a Supreme Products Lycra Hood, which is extremely effective in protecting and keeping the mane clean, as well as conditioning the coat and laying the plaits.
Q. Do you have a product for holding in quarter marks?
A.
You can use Supreme Products de luxe Coat Gloss to help keep in quarter-marks. Groom as normal, use the Coat Gloss as an all over preparation to give shine but spray liberally on the quarters and then mark up. Use Supreme Products Quarter Marking Spray over the top of the marks, once in place, to hold them and to add definition and shine to the markings.
Q. Do you have anything to cover over a mark or scar?
A.
We have 2 different products in different colours that can temporarily cover over a mark or scar. The first is SUPREME Cover Magic, which is available in Black, White or Dark Brown. This is an aerosol spray 'powder' and will provide a semi-permanent cover. (White Cover Magic is also excellent for covering over last minute stable stains!).
The other product that is available is Matt Make-up - available in White, Brown, Dark Brown and Black. Because there are so many different colour variations we cannot produce a product for every colour animal, so if you have a grey you mix the white and black together to get the correct shade. For dark bay you mix the black and brown together and so on. Mix the colours together on the back of your hand until you have the correct shade then touch it over the area that you want to cover. The Make-up dries to a matt finish.
Use the products sparingly and they will last for a long time!
Q. How do I get really white socks?
A.
By using Supreme Products Leg & Body Whitener - thats how! This is an amazingly effective whitener for socks and can also be used for rinsing / whitening the body. It comes in powder format in either 1 kilo, 2 œ kilo or 5 kilo containers and the most effective way to use this is to mix the powder with water into a paste (about the consistency of yoghurt) and then paint it with a brush on to the socks. Immediately after you have done this, bandage up the socks - do this while the legs are still wet, and that's all you have to do!
Do this the night before your show, and on the morning of the class just un-bandage, shake out your bandages and you will have amazingly white legs. If you need to touch up any last minute stable stains you can touch a damp sponge into the powder and just dab it over the stain to cover it.
If you have excess paste in the pot that you have mixed it in, do not discard it. It will dry out back to a powder and the next time you need it, just mix with water and work back into a smooth paste.
For the body whitener usage, use about an egg-cup full of the whitener in a 2 Gallon bucket of water. This can be used as a rinse for all over body whitening.
The Leg & Body Whitener is not chalk. It is more effective and brings out much whiter legs - almost silvery white. If you have painted it on to the socks the night before a class and let it sink in to the hairs you will not get any powdery excess when a judge runs their hand down the socks.

Q. How do I use DeFUSE? How much should I give?
A.
You administer Supreme Products DeFUSE only on the day that you need to calm your horse or pony. It does not require any 'build-up' over previous days or weeks.
There are 2 'variables' when administering DeFUSE:
When to administer DeFUSE and how much to give.
The guideline for giving DeFUSE is with an Oral Syringe approximately 2 hours before you need to have your pony or horse calm. Obviously each animal is different so you may see in some horses calmer behaviour in 1 hour whereas in others it may take 2 - 3 hours. We always advise first time users to try DeFUSE at home, before the first time you need it in 'earnest.' This gives you the opportunity to evaluate the time it takes to calm your animal.
The second variable is how much you need to administer. The guidelines are for ponies 30ml - 90ml and for horses 60ml - 120 ml. We suggest that when you give it to your animal the first time, that you give the upper guideline level. If this works first time, you may try reducing the amount by 5 or 10 ml the next time - as you may be using too much and therefore wasting it!
You cannot overdose your horse or pony, any excess that is not required will just be passed and it will have no detrimental effect on performance, it will just allow your horse or pony to concentrate on the 'job in hand' and take away the nerves.
To assist in administrating DeFUSE, we sell both Oral Syringes and a new product for 2005, which is an 'Easy Wormer.' With the Easy Wormer, DeFUSE is deposited on the back of the tongue making it impossible to spit out!
